To help you navigate your Design Center Journey, we’ve created a glossary of commonly used terms and explanations that take the confusion out of “homebuying” speak.


GLOSSARY
Apron The front/trim of your cabinets, sometimes called ‘front edge’, which can be finished with a variety of treatments such as bull nosed, decorative tiles, etc.
Construction Phase A “phase” is typically 8 homes. These homes are all built on the same schedule. Construction phase is the time frame your Irvine Pacific home is being built along with these other homes. Neighborhoods can have up to 10 or more phases.
Cut-off Date Dates by which you must make your decisions for personalizing your new Irvine Pacific home to maintain the construction schedule within your “phase”.
Deck The top of any interior horizontal surface can be called a deck, including: kitchen and bath cabinets and countertops or optional areas such as desk tops, etc. Decks can be treated with many surfaces through personalized option selections.
Elevation The outside architectural style and materials of your home, including such details as: shutters, brick, stone, window shape, and size. Each elevation is different in terms of measuring for window treatments for interior windows.
Options Items you can add to your new Irvine Pacific home at an extra charge, such as an additional room, a built-in refrigerator, a washer and dryer, etc.
Splash The complete width of wall space just above the deck in kitchens or baths that serves as a guard to the wall at wet areas. Splashes can be treated with a variety of decorative treatments.
Standard Feature An item that is included in your home at no extra charge; often available in a variety of color or finish alternatives at no extra charge.
Upgrades Standard features that can be upgraded for an extra charge.
